American
Data Supply carries a complete line of fiber optic modems from several different
manufacturers. These fiber optic modems are designed for Ethernet, T1/E1, T3/E3 & Audio for campus & intra-building fiber optic networks. Our other fiber
transmission products include
Fiber Optic Modems & Multiplexers; Fiber Optic Data/Telephone Multiplexers;
Fiber Ethernet Switches, Transceivers & Media Converters and Ethernet/Fiber/RS-232
Telephone Extenders. Specialty products include Industrial-Hardened Ethernet and
Multi-Drop Fiber Modems & Multiplexers for SCADA, Traffic Control, Security
& Process Control applications.
Fiber Optic Modems and industrial modems (from Motorola
and Telenetics) are often used to link various process control systems in
manufacturing plants, refineries, etc. It is also used to connect Remote Terminal
Units to SCADA hosts or controllers in Utility environments.

The
TC1520 work well in harsh environments because of their fiber optic benefits.
This results in a simple and low cost solution to electrical/radio frequency interference
and ground loop problems. Data security is also assured because fiber optic cable
is virtually impossible to tap without detection.
The
TC1530 RS-485 Async/Sync Fiber Optic Modem are often used to link various process
control systems in manufacturing plants, refineries, etc. It is also used to connect
Remote Terminal Units to SCADA hosts or controllers in Utility environments.
